Rabbi Elimelech invites you to enjoy Leah, Teddy & the Mandolin
March 7, 2018

Leah, Teddy & the Mandolin will be screened at Rabbi Cyril Harris Community Centre (RCHCC) on Sunday 18 March at 5.30 and 7.30pm.
This musical documentary includes Cantor Ivor Joffe and the Herzlia Vocal Ensemble singing Rebbe Elimelech. Click here to get a snatch of this popular song.
Recognise the tune? This is the Yiddish version of 'Old King Cole was a Merry old Soul'! But instead of calling for his pipers three, the Rebbe is more economical and calls for only two.
The Herzlia Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Ivor Joffe made a valuable contribution to the Yiddish Song Festivals. They even sang 'A Hard Day's Night' in Yiddish one year. In Leah, Teddy & the Mandolin you will see these young vocalists singing their hearts out.

Noo, so book already for the screening of Leah, Teddy & the Mandolin and kleyb nachas from these remarkably talented young people....who by now are young adults! As Jack Shmukler remarked - without the Yiddish Song Festival, these children would not have had a word of Yiddish in their mouths.
